Breaking the rules can be grounds for being banned from the game.

Any questions may be asked in a comment to this post.

Knowledge of the Beast Wars or Beast Machines series should be unnecessary; any lack of information on the player's part can be attributed to in-character memory loss.
  1. Respect other players. Out-of-character infighting will not be tolerated.

  2. If you have an issue with another player, contact a mod, or drop a comment on the suggestions and complaints post.

  3. If you go on hiatus or drop a character, you must say so in the hiatus post, even if you make a post on the OOC community. (Otherwise if an activity check comes up and you're not here, tough luck.)

  4. Speaking of activity checks, they're at random. We require a minimum of 3 comments or posts per character per month. Not that difficult.

  5. There is a maximum of 3 characters per player. If someone is found sneaking in extra characters under another account, they will be banned from the game entirely.

  6. No godmoding (deciding actions for another player's character, or making your character invincible or superpowered to a ridiculous degree). This makes the game less fun for everyone.

  7. OOC knowledge ≠ in-character knowledge. Your characters must learn certain things within the confines of the game.

  8. If you make an original character, please do your best to make (and keep) them balanced, detailed, and interesting. These are qualities mods will be looking for, and OCs will be looked at much more critically than existing characters. For an idea of an acceptable OC, see this sample.

  9. Please pay attention to the balance of power. If you see that we're getting a lot of Resistance members, consider applying for a Vehicon. There's a lot of potential fun to be had on either side.

  10. Dead characters may be applied for, but you must provide reasoning for their resurrection (and please try not to be too convoluted about it).

  11. Beast modes may be chosen from other existing non-TF series, as per the comm's backstory. Beast forms must be organic, animal (non-humanoid), 10 ft or under in size, and are subject to mod approval.

  12. Non-G1/Beast Era transformers are allowed, but their backstory must be changed to fit the G1/Beast Era continuity.

  13. Canon Beast Machines characters don't have to act the same way they did in Machines. In fact, we'd prefer it if they didn't. Additionally, Silverbolt and Rhinox do not have to be the same Vehicons, or even Vehicons at all.

  14. Only one version of each character is allowed, unless you have very good reasoning (we don't want, say, four Bumblebees running around). Which version of the character is allowed in is up to a first-come, first-serve basis.

  15. All Vehicons are subject to Megatron -- remember, he can crush their sparks.

  16. Every Vehicon must have one of the following for an alt mode: aero drone, cycle drone, tank drone, copter drone, or heavy artillery drone. Generals may have small customizations, such as special paint jobs, to differentiate them from regular drones.

  17. Players with hacker or mind-reading characters (such as Soundwave) must contact the player of the character being hacked/mind-read and ask their permission first (also to confirm exactly what kind of information would be gleaned IC).

If your character is the one being hacked/mind-read, please don't be assholish and say "no" just because you don't like the player/don't feel like it/think your character is too awesome/etc. Try to be reasonable and reach a middle ground. Similarly, hackers can't always hack everyone.

  18. Battles are acted out in logs, or otherwise decided OOC. If you are having difficulty deciding who would win, try using dice or a random number generator, or ask a mod for help. Stat points do not necessarily define who wins a battle. They are only there to give an idea of what your character can do.

  19. The main community [info]the_reformation is solely for logs and "broadcasts". Logs can be in script format (e.g. *poses* I am talking) or prose format (e.g. "I am talking," he said, posing). They can be done via journal comments in the post, or they can be played out in an IM client and then copied/pasted to a post. A broadcast is a commlink message being sent out to a group of characters at the same time, and can take either normal text format or "voice post" format (e.g. [static, then loud revving noises. sounds a little panicked.] Hey fearless leader, we got some biker drones down here!).

  20. Logs on the main community must be tagged with the word "log" and the names of the characters involved. Broadcasts must be tagged with the word "broadcast" and the name of the character making the broadcast.

  21. Character journals are to be used as "commlinks". Like broadcasts, they can be text or "voice post" format. Commlink transmissions can be filtered to one character, a couple of characters, or they can be logged as private messages to the character themself (in which case the only character who could access it would be the character that made it). Personal journals can also contain OOC entries with links to logs and stuff like that. It isn't necessary, but it does make it easier to find things. In-game details on how commlinks work can be found here.

  22. One alternate mode scan per character. There is in-game explanation for this. Under certain circumstances a non-Vehicon may be converted into a Vehicon or vice-versa, but only with mod permission. Making such a switch also requires that you resubmit an application form for the character, so that a mod can confirm your ability to play the new personality.

  23. Any character that is not a Vehicon must have an organic alt mode. (Otherwise they would be dead, really.)
